XVI Assembly of the International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs: New initiatives and dialogue development

On December 2, 2025, in Moscow, at the Swissotel Krasnye Holmy site, the XVI Assembly of the International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (ICIE) was held – an annual closed event, which is the highest governing body of the Congress, which brought together members of the ICIE, representatives of the business community and experts from 20 countries in face-to-face and online formats to develop key strategic decisions.
Key organizational and procedural issues were discussed as part of the agenda of the supreme management body. Members of Congress approved the decision to terminate the membership of a number of associations and commercial structures. Strategic integration and project initiatives were submitted for consideration and approval by the Assembly.
Vasile Tarlev, the Chairman of the Council of the International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the President of the National Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Moldova, presided over the Assembly. An important part of the event’s agenda were speeches by representatives of the Congress leadership: the ICIE President Artem Chaika, together with the Chairman of the Science Committee Igor Trunov highlighted the topic of International business in the process of socio-economic changes, and also commented on the participation of the ICIE in modern international and regional business cooperation. A presentation of the strategic initiative to create a Unified international platform for cooperation in the field of transport and logistics in the Eurasian market space was made by the Chairman of the Committee on Transport, Logistics and Transit Andrey Severilov and the Vice-President of the manual transmission Maksim Belopotapov.
The event was attended by representatives of key foreign companies and organizations - existing partners with whom the ICIE is systematically working. In particular, the participants were presented with video messages from the President of the Port of Santos (Federal Republic of Brazil), Mr. Anderson Pomini, who confirmed his high interest in cooperation with the Congress as an authoritative structure, and the Honorary Secretary General of the Knowledge Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Republic of India), Mr. Bharat S. Patel, who noted the strategic importance of joint projects to strengthen relations, especially in light of the upcoming Indian presidency in BRICS.
Within the framework of the Assembly, a speech was made by the Vice-President of the ICIE, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the IMBRICS Forum Mikhail Cherepanov. In his report, he presented a number of significant initiatives aimed at strengthening the role of the Congress and developing cooperation within the BRICS framework. The Assembly participants supported the proposals submitted for consideration. As a result of the discussion, it was decided to launch these initiatives and formulate a comprehensive plan for their implementation.
During the Assembly, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee presented the results of the successful IMBRICS Forum, which was held in November for the seventh time on the territory of the Russian Federation. The President of the ICIE gave a high assessment of the organization and effectiveness of the Forum, noting the significant contribution of the event to the development of multilateral business and humanitarian interaction. It was officially announced that the VIII IMBRICS Forum will be held on October 15-17, 2026 in St. Petersburg, thereby maintaining the tradition of holding this key event in the Northern capital of Russia.
The holding of the XVI Assembly of the ICIE demonstrated the strengthening of the role of the Congress as an effective international structure aimed at practical solutions and the development of business partnership. Particular emphasis in the work is placed on consolidating cooperation with countries in Asia and the Middle East, as well as building communications with partners from Latin America.
As a result of the Assembly, the entry into the ICIE of a number of new members was approved - large industry structures representing various countries of the world. Currently, an active phase of work is beginning to integrate new participants into the activities of the Congress and build practical interaction with them.
